Understand CertWright before you install or buy.

These answers explain what the plugin does, what your website still needs, what the Free Version includes and when Pro becomes useful.

Quick answer

Free Version: complete everyday certificate workflow on one website.

Pro: scale, automation, reusable programme controls and additional activations.

Your data: retained with your WordPress installation.

Product and workflow

What does CertWright actually do?

What problem does CertWright solve?

It replaces a disconnected manual process. Instead of copying form details into a certificate, exporting a PDF, attaching it to an email and answering verification requests separately, CertWright connects those stages inside WordPress.

Does CertWright create the application form?

CertWright connects to supported WordPress form makers. You create the form using the selected form plugin, then map its fields in CertWright. The available integrations are displayed in the installed release.

What happens after a form is submitted?

CertWright can create a certificate record, assign a certificate number, generate the PDF from the saved layout, queue an email with the PDF attached and make the certificate available for verification.

Can I use my own design and wording?

Yes. You control the certificate headline, wording, organisation details, logo, signature, background and optional frame. The Template Designer controls the position and size of certificate elements.

Does it support portrait and landscape certificates?

Yes. Orientation is changed in the primary certificate settings. The background must match the selected orientation. A frame is optional, but if used it should also match the selected orientation and have a genuinely transparent centre.

Can people check whether a certificate is genuine?

Yes. CertWright provides public verification information and can add a QR code to the certificate. The result is based on the current certificate record held by the issuing website.

Can a certificate be revoked?

Yes. An authorised administrator can change its status. The public verification result then reflects the organisation’s current decision rather than continuing to report the certificate as valid.

Free Version and Pro

What do I pay for?

Is the Free Version really complete?

Yes. It is intended to create, email, store, search, verify and revoke certificates on one website. It is not a short demonstration that stops working unless you purchase Pro.

Why would I purchase Pro?

Pro becomes useful when certificate volume or programme complexity creates repeated administrative work. Its purpose is to add scale, automation, reusable templates and branding profiles, advanced programme controls and the required number of website activations.

Do different Pro plans contain different features?

No. Every paid plan contains the same Pro functions. Plans differ by the number of websites on which Pro may be activated.

Are Pro licences annual?

Yes. CertWright Pro uses annual subscriptions. There is no lifetime licence.

What happens if I stop using Pro?

CertWright will never invalidate certificates already issued merely because Pro is removed or not renewed. Existing certificate identity and records are preserved, although Pro-only administrative capabilities require the add-on.

Technical and operational

What does my website need?

Where is certificate information stored?

The certificate records are stored with your WordPress installation. Your organisation controls its website and data, subject to its own hosting, backup and security arrangements.

Does CertWright guarantee that email will be delivered?

No plugin can guarantee delivery through an incorrectly configured or blocked mail service. CertWright provides a visible queue, retry handling, logs and diagnostics, but your website still needs valid outgoing SMTP or an appropriate transactional mail service.

Do I need to maintain backups?

Yes. Because certificate records belong to your WordPress installation, your normal backup plan should protect the database and relevant uploaded or generated files. A licence is not a substitute for website backups.

Can administrators investigate a failed certificate?

Yes. CertWright includes logs and diagnostic reporting intended to identify whether a failure arose during mapping, database handling, PDF generation or email delivery.

Have a question about your own workflow?

Explain the form maker, certificate volume and number of websites you expect to use, and we can help you identify the appropriate starting point.
